Dr. Nidhi Samania did her M.V.Sc in Veterinary Microbiology from College of veterinary sciences Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar, Haryana. She started her career with Indovax Pvt. Ltd. as a Vaccine Quality Control officer and worked on vaccine development and quality control.

Due to her abiding interest in small animal diagnostics she moved on to work at CGS Hospital, Gurgaon and apart from establishing the diagnostic laboratory of the hospital, she also set up work processes and related protocols. This helped her see the potential scale of small animal diagnostics and its relevance for clinical decision making and she went to co-found VetSERV - where the vision was to raise the standards of diagnostics available to animals in India.

At VetSERV, she contributed to development of a range of tests and helped change the way clinicians interacted with labs and used diagnostics.

She focused on improving the diagnosis of tick borne diseases as it contributes more than 40% of case load for most clinics. To begin with, VetSERV under her became the first lab to introduce the Buffy Coat based blood smear examination for detection of tick fever causing hemoprotozoans. In her push towards providing even more cutting edge diagnosis of tick fever, she set up internal Biotech R&D towards offering VetSERV's PCR tests for tick fever. Due to her efforts in November 2017, VetSERV launched India's first commercial PCR tests for detecting tick fever causing organisms. Since then VetSERV has launched it's largest range of PCR tests for organisms including hemoprotozoans, bacteria and viruses - raising the standard of diagnostics available for animals in India.

Under her, for the past 10 years, VetSERV has grown to be the go-to lab and offers the most advanced, innovative and credible diagnostic services (many for the first time in India) for companion animals and she is dedicated and determined to serve the veterinary profession in a leading way for years to come.
