Dr. Amrita Deb has more than 20 years of international experience as a small, avian and exotic animal veterinarian.
She is the founding veterinarian of the WILDVETS Veterinary Clinic, a small and exotic animal practice in Bandra, Mumbai.
Wildvets has a dedicated feline clinic called CAT CORNER and is a member of the International Society for Feline Medicine (ISFM)
After graduating from Bombay Veterinary College as gold medallist in 2003, she went on to pursue a Masters’ degree in Veterinary Surgery at the college. She then left to pursue a Masters’ degree in Wildlife management and conservation from the University of Reading, UK where her thesis on health assessment in wild avian populations received a distinction.
In 2006, she moved to Qatar and spent next 3 years as Veterinarian and Head of Conservation at the Al Wabra Wildlife Preservation, a private research and breeding centre for endangered species, including the extinct Spix’s macaw.
She has been a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (UK) since 2010.
She worked at an exclusive falcon hospital in Qatar before moving back to India in 2015 to start WILDVETS.
Dr. Amrita regularly lectures on feline and avian medicine and has more than 35 papers and presentations in International Journals and Conferences, respectively, to her credit.
